VVC

Magnet, Liverpool 7/8/09.

Was looking forward to catching up with the girls as it had been several months since I'd seen them. The venue a place called Magnet on Hardman St was a venue I didn't know so an early dart was needed.

I had arranged to stay at Nathans flat in Toxteth so had to find my way there and back to town too. Negotiated this quite well. Found the venue on Hardman St and spoke to a girl outside who was loading some gear in she said the fun would start at about 9.30 ish. Off in search of food I went.
Got back to the venue later on and found my way into the basement where all the action was to take place. There were a few people milling round but no sign of the girls, so got a drink and listened to the dj and watched some weird film projected on the wall. Jen and Sian soon turned up and we had our hugs and said our Hi's, it has been some months since I've seen them. It has to said they were looking good and Sian has lost a little weight too. Sian's mum and dad were here too so she introduced me to them and had a good chat.
Proceedings soon started so I moved to a position on a balcony to the right of the stage. First act was a guy by himself playing guitar and singing politically motivated material a sort of punk Billy Bragg!!
The girls were up next and played their usual high octane set. I can't say more about VVC really having seen them so many times. There was no new material which was a shame, a highlight was FF which was sang without the megaphone as Jen announced that she had forgotten it.
I wasn't too keen on the final act a duo who were well not for me.
After them I went over and said my goodbye to the girls. It was really nice to catch up with them and to see them looking so well and still very enthusiastic about their music.
